Feel better?

So, the stuff the doctor gave me made me feel much better. Really. At 11 pm last night, I was feeling the best I’d felt in over a week. This was after the pseudoephedrine wore off, because that stuff really knocks you about. But, I felt great. Tired, but great. I went to bed, thinking that I could have a good night’s sleep, be up at 9 or so, get to school, and have a great, productive day. Alas, that was not to be. You see, the problem with having slept 14 hours that day already, is that your body doesn’t want to go to sleep. It was after 4 am by the time I actually got to sleep, and during the long wait, the cough set in…

My sinuses are great – clear, fine, wonderful. Instead, I’ve now got something in my chest, and it isn’t pleasant. My head was still spinning most of today, but I lasted a full day at school, which is good. Another good night’s sleep, and life will move on.

In other news, I talked to my supervisor today, and found some direction to work on that isn’t too intensive on the brain, given that I’m currently operating below normal levels. We also had a good discussion on the black hole on a brane problem, identified a scaling symmetry, discerned answers by dimensional analysis, and found a contradiction with the AdS/CFT claims. While what we ended up with was almost certainly incorrect, it raised concerns about the AdS/CFT picture. I’m hoping to be productive for a while now – next paper to be ready to go by August, although I’ll be presenting the results at the end of April. I think I can do this.
