Australianisms

So, I’ve finally gotten around to making a page devoted to Australianisms. Yes, this is about four years late, but hey… I figure I should make a list of them somewhere, and a file on my computer was so much less interesting than a page on my blog ;-) So, without further ado, here we go!

Stickybeak, “to have a stickybeak”. To nose around or take a look at something.

Pike, “I’m going to pike”. To excuse yourself, especially frivolously.

Shout, “I’ll shout you dinner”. To purchase for somebody else with no obligation. Usually with regards to food or drinks.
